It would be the first time in 3 years fares have gone up.
Torbay council's proposing a rise of 30p for the first 470 yards of a Hackney Carriage journey.
It would see the standard tariff between 7am and 11pm go up to £3.30.

The plans will go out for consultation and if agreed, would come into force on October 1st.
