1 has burns, another has minor injuries
Fire crews from across South Devon are at the scene of a suspected gas explosion at a bungalow at Barn Park in Buckfastleigh.
People have described on Facebook hearing the loud bang and thinking their windows were going to fall in.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue have confirmed they have a number of appliances in attendance.
Devon and Cornwall Police say one person has suffered from burns and another has minor injuries.
Fire crews from Buckfastleigh, Ashburton, Newton Abbot and Ivybridge are currently attending what seems to be a Gas Explosion at a property on Barn Park in Buckfastleigh. The Town Hall is open for anyone who has been affected.
Police have issued a statement saying: "At 0750 hours, emergency services have received a call of a potential gas explosion at a house in Barn Park Buckfastleigh Devon.
On arrival officers found significant damage to a bungalow.
A female occupant in her 70's suffered burns and has been taken to hospital. A second person was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Other nearby residents have been evacuated while the building is being made safe.
Police and Devon Fire and Rescue Service are currently working to establish the cause.
A cordon remains in place covering Barn Park and Jordan Street area of Buckfastleigh.
