Exeter Chamber welcomes the Commando Training Centre, Royal Marines (CTCRM) as its latest strategic partner. The world-class military establishment who is already actively engaged with local communities and businesses, welcomes the new partnership that will offer an accelerated programme of insight, support, and connectivity to the business community in Exeter and the Greater Exeter Area.

The Commando Training Centre at Lympstone selects and trains all Royal Marines Officers, Recruits and Reserves. On average, 3400 ranks are trained annually, with an average of 1400 students in any training week. CTCRM is one of the largest employers in the area, with approximately 640 military staff and 69 civilian staff keeping the Centre running with military precision.

The Royal Marines are synonymous with leadership, discipline, excellence and integrity, all qualities which are essential in driving business success. The new partnership will open opportunities to both Chamber members and CTCRM personnel, including access to networking, business resources and training.

Richard Marsh, CEO of Exeter Chamber comments on the new partnership; “We are honoured to welcome Colonel Haw and CTCRM to Exeter Chamber as strategic partners. The training facility at Lympstone is outstanding and there is a clear drive from the commanding officers to continue to integrate with the local business community which I am delighted to help facilitate by aligning the Corps with the Chamber.”

Colonel Chris E Haw MC shares his thoughts; “It is a privilege to be part of Exeter Chamber and the business community. Connecting with more businesses in Exeter and the Greater Exeter Area is essential for us. Although a military organisation, we are keen to meet and learn from the many successful business leaders in the region and we look forward to supporting Chamber members and becoming involved in local opportunities and to build on our network.”

As part of the new strategic partnership with Exeter Chamber, CTCRM will be hosting an exclusive Chamber event at their training facility at Lympstone on Tuesday 25 July. Members will have the rare opportunity to have an insight into life on base, and hear from leaders about teamwork, trust and working under pressure, hosted by Colonel Chris Haw himself.
