Police crackdown on dangerous drivers

More than 20 vehicles removed

Local police in Devonport and West Plymouth launched a road safety operation to address community concerns.

The operation targeted dangerous driving, with plain-clothes officers identifying offenders.

Offences included driving without insurance, using a mobile phone while driving, and not wearing seatbelts.

The DVSA conducted vehicle inspections, temporarily prohibiting 23 vehicles due to safety issues.

The community speed watch checks revealed most drivers were within speed limits.

The operation aimed to enhance road safety, reflecting community feedback and aiming to prevent accidents caused by dangerous driving behaviours.
