New police dogs to tackle organised crime and terror

Devon and Cornwall police have a new tool in tackling organised crime and terrorism - two dogs trained to find devices such as mobile phones, USB sticks, SD cards and computers.

The Digital Storage Detection dogs, called Tweed and Rob, will be working throughout Devon, Cornwall and Dorset.

They are the first dogs of their kind outside the US and the initiative involved working closely with police in the US to learn about the highly specialised training, and the US officers visiting to assess the dogs once the programme was completed.
