An Exeter man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a stabbing on Saturday.
Ambulance crews who were called to Salutary Mount just before 5am alerted police.
The victim, aged 58, was taken to the RD&E hospital for treatment for stab wounds to his back - and has now been released.
47 year old Steven Ritchie was arrested at the scene and appeared before Exeter magistrates today - he's been remanded in custody.
Police say the stabbing was an isolated incident and there's no cause for public concern.
