Trip Advisor, the worlds largest travel site, have awarded Dawlish Warren's beach as a top visitor spot
The Devon beach is a popular home to amusements and rides, adventure golf, shops, cycle hire, cafes and pubs. Attracting glowing reviews from visitors across the UK along with locals, over 1,000 reviews have been added to the TripAdvisor site with 84% rating their visit as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.
Aimed at encouraging more visitors, the flag acts as a Certificate of Excellence amongst TripAdvisor customers, which account for over 600 million reviews worldwide and is the world’s largest travel site*. The announcement comes as a timely boost for the resort as it looks forward to a busy season that starts with the Easter holidays.
Councillor Philip Bullivant, Teignbridge District Council’s Executive for Recreation and Leisure, said: “It is great news for Dawlish Warren that visitors have appreciated the work done to enhance the beaches at Dawlish Warren and voted for them on the Trip Adviser web site.
“We have the cleanest beaches along our coast with Blue Flag Awards and Seaside Awards and now the flag from TripAdviser as well. The work of our Council and the dedication of the local staff is acknowledged through these awards and we are delighted that the hard work of our teams has been recognised.”
Helen Scott, Chairman of Dawlish Warren Tourism, added: “We are delighted with the recognition from TripAdvisor with a Certificate of Excellence for Dawlish Warren Beach. This is such a fantastic achievement for the resort all based on customer feedback which is extremely important for the tourism industry. An award we as a group, local business, Dawlish and Teignbridge councils can be very proud to have achieved.”
