Campaigners raise awareness of 'damaging' TTIP trade deal

Campaigners in Exeter are joining a national day of action against a huge international trade deal being hammered out between the European Union and the US.

Critics say the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership would 'allow corporate lobbyists to rewrite the rules of our democracy'.

It would enable multinational companies to sue the UK if a change in law damages their profits - and could expose the Government to lawsuits if it tried to undo the privatisation of NHS services.

Campaigners will be in Exeter city centre today collecting signatures for a petition.
