Some of the money will be spent on revamping the picnic area, erecting a permanent Big Top arena and creating a toilet facility for people with additional needs.

Crealy’s general manager Josh Haywood said: “Every year we look for new ways to improve on our offering at Crealy and this requires consistent investment in the park and resort. We always listen to visitor feedback and act on it because we want people to have the best experience thatCrealy can offer and to return to the park.”

Crealy have spent £20,000 on new flooring at their popular Splash Zone and £5,000 on a 20metre by 10metre canopy to provide shade for children enjoying the wet play area. They have also installed a new ice cream kiosk and seating next to the Splash Zone.

A new changing room and toilet facility for people with additional needs has been created in the main toilet area, complete with an electric bed costing £10,000. The picnic area has been given an £80,000 revamp and the temporary, 750 seater Big Top arena is being given a £30,000 cash injection to make it into a permanent structure.

Crealy have been granted planning permission under delegated powers by East Devon District Council to turn the marquee into a permanent, all weather structure on the park grounds from June 1 2019 until February 28 2024. The Big Top, which will host key seasonal shows and events, will have concert flooring, purpose built toilets, new seating, and a dedicated retail area.
