A village on the outskirts of Exeter have voted against having a Park and Ride scheme.
Residents in Ide voted four to one against the scheme in a referendum.
As part of their Neighbourhood Plan, the village will only support future schemes if they do not have an adverse impact on the rural character of the Village.
Ide resident Peter Hayes, who organised the referendum, says the scheme would be in the wrong place and that experts have told them it would make congestion worse.
Teignbridge District Council say they have significant concerns over Ide's policy, which is frustrating the development of the Park and Ride facility proposed for the Ide/Alphington A30 junction.
