Devon's fire brigades union say they'll oppose any proposed closures of local fire stations.
It comes after the chief fire officer for Devon and Somerset Lee Howell warned that he couldn't rule it out - if there's another reduction in Government funding.
He says there are fewer call-outs now and some of the 93 stations in the two counties could be used differently.
The FBU says the service has enough money in its reserves to prevent any front-line cuts.
