The UK’s being taken to court over failings at several water treatment plants, including one in Tiverton.
It's one of seventeen British sites which don't meet the EU standards for releasing waste into rivers and estuaries.
B/A South West Water say the deadline for upgrading the plant was brought forward to 2015 18 months ago - and the work will start in May and be completed by December.
