Travellers who occupied a park in Exeter for a week have left trees felled, waste in the hedgerows and boulders moved aside to let their caravans pass.
They moved on to the park off Russell Way in Digby last Sunday evening and left yesterday.
The city council will now have to spend taxpayers' money cleaning up the land.
During the week local residents complained that the council was being too slow in moving the travellers on - although a court order was secured on Friday.
