Study finds green spaces improve mental health

Research by Exeter University medical school has found that green spaces in towns and cities can lead to significant improvements in people's mental health.

The researchers looked at the effects of moving to, and away from, urban areas with good parks and open spaces.

They found that those who'd moved to greener areas experienced better mental health for at least three years.

However, those relocating to more built-up areas suffered a decline before they moved, but returned to normal afterwards.
