Mathematicians and climate scientists are meeting in Exeter this week for a conference on the weather - in particular the extreme and unseasonal conditions seen in the UK and around the world.
The event's taking place at the University of Exeter and the Met Office, and is focusing on the increasingly important role of mathematicians to gather objective data on the factors influencing weather and climate.
It comes just a couple of weeks after a high-profile summit meeting at the Met Office.
