Care company wants "family friendly" atmosphere for residents
A residential property in the Tamerton Foliot area of Plymouth icould become a children’s home.
Plans have been submitted to Plymouth City Council to run a facility offering tailored care and support for one or two children at 9 Cheshire Drive.
The home would comply with Ofsted regulations and the council’s standards for children’s residential care.
The are no plans to make any structural changes to the four-bed detached home which has secure landscaped gardens and large communal areas.
Applicants 360 CRS (Children’s Residential Services) say by offering this type of care in a residential neighbourhood, the aim is to support children locally, minimising the need for placements far from family, friends, and familiar surroundings.
Iin planning documents, the company says it has an “established track record in delivering high-quality, specialised care for vulnerable children.”
Children living at the home would be between the ages of seven and 17 and would have 24-hour care.
“The home will focus on creating a stable, consistent, and therapeutic environment, helping the children develop social, emotional, and practical skills,” said 360 CRS.
