The number of children arrested by Devon and Cornwall police has fallen dramatically over a five year period.
Figures obtained by the Howard League for Penal Reform show that in 2008 nearly five and a half thousand 10 to 17 year olds were arrested.
In 2013 the number was down to one thousand four hundred and 31.
It follows a campaign by the League to stop criminalising children - and work by police forces to find other ways of dealing with young offenders.
