
Man died after colliding with car in Plymouth
Police have been given permission to question a man suspected of a Plymouth murder for a further 36 hours.
Magistrates granted the extension before the usual 24-hour period between arrest and either release or charge expired.
The 36-year-old was detained after an incident in Leigham Manor Drive on Tuesday evening after a pedestrian, a local man in his forties, died following a collision with a car.
The vehicle left the scene and was located in the Marsh Mills retail park a short time later.
A cordon is still in place on Leigham Manor Drive, whilst a post-mortem examination and formal identification of the dead man took place on Thursday
Senior investigating officer, detective inspector Ilona Rosson said: “Officers are continuing to carry out a number of enquiries and searches today in relation to this investigation.
“I continue to ask anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage, doorbell or CCTV footage and any relevant information, to contact police and report anything that may assist us.”
