Plymouth to face Premier League champions in FA Cup

Argyle play Manchester City whilst Exeter could host Ipswich

Plymouth Argyle has landed another massive FA Cup draw, after setting up a fifth-round clash against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Bottom of the Championship Argyle stunned current league leaders Liverpool in the fourth round, will now face Manchester City for the first time in 36 years.

The last meeting between the two sides came in 1989, when the Mancunian club secured a 2-0 victory in the old Second Division.

Plymouth Argyle are in dreamland in the FA cup this season, as they will play their third Premier League side of the campaign.

Meanwhile, another Premier League side could be heading to Devon next month, as Exeter City have been drawn at home to Ipswich Town, only if they beat Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

The Suffolk based side sit just 19th in the league and present a potentially favourable route to the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Some Exeter fans seeing it as a more winnable tie. But before getting too carried away, City must first beat the current third best team in England, Nottingham Forest.

These matches are set to take place around the weekend of March 1st.
