Match Report: Plymouth Argyle 1-0 Liverpool
The bottom team in the Championship have beaten the Premier League leaders to go through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Liverpool was a dream team for Plymouth Argyle to draw in the fourth round, but whilst all of the Green Army dreamed more - for a win - few realistically would have expected it.
But a 53rd minute handball by Liverpool midfielder, Harvey Elliott meant Plymouth Argyle were awarded a penalty. Plymouth's striker Ryan Hardie slotted the ball into the left hand corner from 12-yards out in an empthatic fashio.
And after Argyle keeper Conor Hazard kept out a series of Liverpool shots on goal towards the end of the match at Home Park, including an incredible header from Portugeuse international, Diego Jota in dying minutes.
Although the bombardment of Liverpool pressure in the dying moments, Argyle's penalty was the only difference between the two sides, and the sold-out crowd (except maybe visiting fans) went wild.
The team that has only won once in the Championship in the last three months is into the fifth round of the most famous football cup competition in the world.
Speaking about the result, goalkeeper Hazard told ITV later: "We didn't expect that this morning."
The full time score at Home Park was, Plymouth Argyle 1, Liverpool 0.
The FA cup fifth round draw takes place on the One Show on BBC One on Monday 10 February at 19:10 GMT
It's not the only fourth round FA Cup tie to be played in Devon this season. Exeter City host high flying Premier League club Nottingham Forest at St James Park on Tuesday evening.
And If Nottingham Forest lose at Exeter City on Tuesday 11 February then it means all of the current top four in the Premier League would be out of this year's FA Cup.
