NHS urged not to overlook rural transport issues

The new provider of community health services in east Devon will be lobbied over the issue of transport to hospitals and GP practices in rural areas.


A few days ago the regulator Monitor gave the go-ahead for the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust to take over the services - over-ruling an objection from the current provider.

Devon Communities Together, who support rural neighbourhoods, have expressed concern over the decline in public transport in the countryside, and will be presenting their research to the NHS
