Matford Brook will have a theatre
A year before it opens, a new Exeter school has revealed more details of what it is building.
Matford Brook School is going up on the south-west of the city, near to the junction with the A38 and running towards Exminster.
It will have a theatre with raked seating, activity studio, a resources centre and two recreational halls as well as a dedicated dining hall.
For sport, it will have four court sports hall, a large 3G artificial turf all-weather flood lit pitches, netball courts, a full sized football pitch, a cricket square, a full sized rugby pitch, a 400m athletics track and field provision, an outdoor learning environment including woodland area and a four-court Tarmacadam multi-use games area (MUGA).
Moira Marder, chief executive of the Ted Wragg Trust which will run the school, said: “We are delighted to have reached this milestone where we can share the excitement of these facilities with the local community. The school will provide a huge amount of opportunity to students and wider afield."
