He threatened to set fire to a petrol station and assault police
A man has been arrested in North Devon after police received a phone call threatening to set fire to a petrol station and assault police.
Police Resource Deployment Officer Lisa Burnett said all available units were sent to the incident in Barnstaple following the threat, in which the man reportedly said he would "smash police officers faces in".
On Twitter, RDO Burnett said: "We aren’t all pasties and ice cream. We don’t mess about. You make threats to us or waste police time you will be arrested."
The man was detained for offences including the possession of cannabis, malicious communications, and being drunk and disorderly.
