    Kitesurfer rescued off Dawlish Warren

Christmas Eve at sea goes wrong

A Christmas Eve afternoon spent kite-surfing has turned into a difficult one for a kitesurfer in Lyme Bay.

Exmouth's RNLI inshore lifeboat was called by the Coastguard to Dawlish Warren around 2.25 p.m. Exmouth's National Coastwatch Institution had reported a kitesurfer in distress in the sea off Dawlish Warren.

The lifeboat, crewed by helm Scott Ranft and crew David Preece and Roy Stott made their way to the casualty, taking them on board the lifeboat and to the safety of shore at Exmouth. He was uninjured and didn't require medical attention.
