The organiser of an Exeter food bank says most benefit claimants are not scroungers, following the Chancellor's negative remarks about child killer Mick Philpott's benefit-funded lifestyle.
Commenting on the jailing of Philpotts yesterday, George Osborne questioned whether taxpayers should be funding the lifestyles of 'people like Mick Philpotts'.
Joy Dunne is from the Exeter food bank which distributes emergency supplies to people in desperate need.
She says many of the people coming for help are claiming benefits because they've lost their jobs, or are unable to work through illness or disability.
