Same house as 2018 gas cylinder blast
One person has been airlifted to hospital after an explosion in a quiet Exmouth street.
Residents of Hartley Road near the town centre were rocked by a loud bang and some windows of number 6 to 8 being blown out. The two large houses are converted into multiple flats.
At 9.40am on Friday morning, gas cylinders kept at the property are thought to have exploded. All emergency services were quickly on the scene. Devon Air Ambulance landed on a field near the Beacon and conveyed the victim to hospital. News about their condition has not yet been released.
The road was closed and some neighbours evacuated.
There was a serious fire at the same property in 2018 when gas cylinders also exploded. In that instance, a 45-year-old man was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with serious burns.
