Exeter volunteers needed for Marie Curie

Yellow hat is optional!

Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, is urging Exeter residents to help in their Great Daffodil Appeal by distributing daffodil pins for donations in March.

The appeal helps raise much-needed funds for nurses and healthcare professionals to provide hospice care in the comfort of people's own homes across Devon and beyond.

The money supports the charity's free support line and webchat, providing practical and emotional assistance on symptom management, care, finances, and bereavement for those with life-threatening illnesses and their loved ones.

Several collection events are taking place in Exeter this year, including at Morrisons on Prince Charles Road and on Exeter High Street on Saturday, March 16th.

The organisation also wants to hear from businesses who might like to give staff time off to host a collection.

Georgia Brooks Marie Curie Community Fundraiser for Devon said:

“By volunteering your time, you can support Marie Curie in providing expert care to individuals in their final days, as many people currently lack necessary end-of-life support.”

“Our team will be on hand to support you throughout to make sure you have everything you need, including the (optional) big yellow hat!”
