The Mediterranean diet has long been held up as a healthy example, and now researchers at Exeter University have found evidence that it's good for the mind as well.
A team from the medical school analysed 12 pieces of research, consisting of eleven observational studies and a randomised control trial.
They found that a higher adherence to a Mediterranean diet - with plenty of olive oil, vegetables, fruit and fish - was linked to better cognitive function and even a reduced risk of Alzheimer's disease.
