Exeter manager Paul Tisdale said he was satisfied with his teams performance despite being held to a 0-0 draw against west county rivals Yeovil Town on Tuesday night.
Exeter's Hiram Boateng rattled the crossbar for the Grecians late in the first-half whilst Jayden Stockley fired a shot agonisingly wide inside the box on a frustrating night for the Grecians.
Speaking to the club after the game, Tisdale said: “I thought was a really good game. I can’t quite believe there were no goals in it and I can’t fault the way we played. We didn’t do too much wrong today. We had plenty of chances. We tried really hard.
“I think Matt Jay had five half chances in the first five minutes. I can't fault the players for their intent at the start of the game because they went for it and we continued to go for it. They (Yeovil) had a threat with the counter-attack as well. They were spritely with their breakaways - so we had to be really good on our recovery as well - but I think we did enough to get a goal today.”
Speaking about Jayden’s chance late in the second half, Tisdale added:
“Jayden doesn’t miss those chances very often so we expect that to change next time, but I am really pleased with the way we played,” said Tis. “It is a point, we wanted three but a point is better than zero and we put in a really good performance in today. There were some really good positives with the performances.
“There wasn’t a poor performance out there, but the first half Matt Jay was outstanding – Ryan Harley the same. We had two or three really top performances and just couldn’t quite get the goal.”
The point keeps City sixth in the table, five points behind the automatic promotion places with two games in hand on third-placed Notts County.
