There's been a further reduction in funding by Devon county council, for keeping grass and weeds under control on road verges.
In the past it's paid Mid Devon district council to carry out the work - but now it will only fund it where overgrown verges would impede drivers' vision.
The district council has decided to foot the bill for maintaining the current level of cutting for the next 12 months - while seeing if any community groups would be willing to take over the work afterwards.
