Charity fills gap caused by loss of day centres

The closure of day centres for frail elderly people in Exeter is putting extra demand on the city's Age UK charity.

The county council is shutting down centres across the county where elderly and often isolated people could meet friends, have a hot meal and take part in various activities.

The Age UK centre in Cowick Street in Exeter has now started running day services on Thursdays to cater for those who can't get that support elsewhere.
