Devon county council has welcomed the announcement of roads funding for the next six years... but says the amount falls short of what's needed. .
The largest award will be 42 million pounds for the next financial year - the council says it needs 64 million each year to maintain roads in their current condition.
The council says it's confident it can meet the criteria for extra money as incentives for efficiency, but will wait to hear how that bidding process works
