Fixtures announced for Devon teams

Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle 2023/24

Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle have had their fixtures for next season announced.

Exeter City remain in League One for consecutive seasons for the first time in over 11 years. Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle were crowned champions of League One last season which means they are in the Championship for this coming season. 

Exeter City

Exeter City will open the 2023/24 season on the road with a trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 5 August where City drew 1-1 back in March. They also beat them 3-1 at home last August. The Grecians’ first home match of the season will see them play recently relegated Blackpool at St James Park on Saturday 12 August. City also have six Tuesday fixtures scheduled throughout the season with trips to Portsmouth and Charlton. The final match of League One season is a home match against Oxford United on Saturday 27 April.

Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth will begin their first Championship campaign in 13 years with a home match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 5 August. Argyle’s second game will see them travel to Watford a week later before they host Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League, on Saturday 19 August. The Pilgrims will play four former Premier League clubs in November, with a visit to Leeds United on November 11. Argyle will end the 2023/24 Championship season at home to Hull City on Saturday, May 4.
