Rumours are it could be former Bristol City boss
Exeter City interim manager Kevin Nicholson wants Exeter City to appoint a new manager soon.
Speaking before his sixth match in charge against Fleetwood, Nicholson has provided updates about the squad's injury list.
It's not been an entirely smooth ride, although Nicholson does have the backing of many supporters. However, City have had three losses in a row, conceding 12 goals along the way.
Asked whether he had been interview yet for the job, Nicholson said: “the process is ongoing...and the longer it goes [to assign a full-time manager] it’s not great and it needs to be sorted soon.
“They just need to know [who it will be]. If it’s me great… if it’s not the players need to get their mind at rest and stop listening to the noise.”
Some rumours suggest that former Bristol City and Stoke City caretaker manager Dean Holden has been offered the job. Exeter City has yet to confirm this, but Dean Holden disputes a report on Wikipedia that he is Exeter's new boss.
One thing that the club can confirm is the return of Cheick Diabate and Tim Dieng from injury.
“Tim Dieng is an option if needed at the back…most of the players are getting there,” said Nicholson.
This comes, following the absence of Pierce Sweeney, who will miss the Fleetwood game, due to a match ban because of acumilating a certain number of yellow cards.
