After last weekend’s well-deserved victory over Loughborough Lighting at Sandy Park. The Chiefs women were full of confidence sat in first place of the Allianz Premier 15s table, going into the ‘Big Game 14’ at Twickenham stadium. 15 points separating these two sides, the Chiefs certainty looked favourites.

It was an almost perfect start for the Chiefs as they touched down within one minute of kick-off, however TMO concluded that winger Eilidah Sinclair had her foot in touch, so the try was subsequently ruled out.

Exeter Chiefs piled on the pressure, it all seemed very easy for them early on. And determination from Exeter’s Kate Zackary meant the Chiefs scored first.

The lead doubled very quickly, as Maisy Allen was awarded with her thirteenth try of the season in the thirteenth minute!

And after a few decent phases from Harlequins, they were beginning to come to life and managed to put five points on the board, to the happiness of the Twickenham crowd. The London side started to look more dangerous; Resulting in a penalty to reduce Exeter’s advantage to a single point.

However, some good possession from Exeter resulted in a comfortable break which resulted in a try to give the Devon side a lead going into the break. The halftime score being Exeter 21, Harlequins 13.

The second half began with Harlequins scoring a try almost instantly after the whistle blew-the ball was passed out to the wing and Abby Dow the winger converted it. ‘Anything you can do I can do better’- The Chiefs responded to the Harlequins try courtesy of substitute Ebony Jefferies who placed it underneath the post. What a great match!

Chiefs make another breakthrough as England international Claudia Macdonald touched down underneath the posts, which was instantly responded by Harlequins again! Every-time a team scores, the other team gets a try a minute later.

The Chiefs put the game to bed and this bonus point victory extends their lead even further at the top of the premiership.
