Section 28 blighted the lives of LGBTQ+ people across the 15 years it was in force and its afterlives continue to be felt to this day.
Through creative workshops with LGBTQ+ people in the South West, we created a huge collection of creative works. These workshops provided space to reflect on Section 28 and its legacies, engaging with this challenging period of recent LGBTQ+ history in a hands-on, empowering way, by using collage to create a personal response to a range of historical material. See examples here.
We are continuing this work by exhibiting the original creative works from these workshops in an exhibition, as well as offering these workshops (2 hours long) for attendees of Queer Out There Fest.
